In the southern United States the people will cook abundant southern dishes for any occasion. A big holiday that southerners celebrate which involves lots of food is the fourth of July. During the fourth of July, southerners state by state take pride in making their barbeque, weather with mustard or vinegar, while enjoying a nice beer or Jack and Coke. A particular food specific to the south that has a big impact during the fourth of July is hushpuppies. Hushpuppies are essentially fried corn bread first made by the Southern Native Indians. The hushpuppy is a staple of the southern culture, easy to make but delicious.

  1. I enjoy how the south also celebrates such a close holiday to me. I also enjoy how their celebration of the holiday differs from mine. I imagine the holiday with a hot dog and coleslaw. It is interesting they celebrate with barbeque and hushpuppies.

  2. I like how the south is into their barbeque on the fourth of July. People all around the country celebrate with barbeque on the 4th so it's nice to see that people still love to cook it where it is from.

  3. The Fourth of July is a special holiday that is only celebrated by Americans, and the perfect way of celebrating the holiday is kicking back with southern barbecue.
